Why We Started RotationSync: Education, Mentorship, and a Better Path Forward for Future Physicians

At its core, RotationSync was founded on a shared belief: education and mentorship have the power to change lives.

Long before Dr. Adam Karmali became a physician educator, he was a teacher. While studying for the MCAT and applying to medical school, he taught high school science and discovered a passion for helping students learn, grow, and achieve their goals. That passion continued throughout his medical career, eventually leading him to serve as Chief Resident and later Assistant Program Director, where he mentored countless medical students and residents.

For Martha Karmali, education has also played a defining role. As a first-generation student navigating higher education in the United States, she experienced firsthand the challenges of understanding complex systems, identifying opportunities, and finding the right guidance. Throughout her career in education and business, she has remained passionate about helping others access information, gain confidence, and move forward with clarity.

Together, we saw a need.

Over the years, we met talented international medical students and graduates who were deeply committed to their goals but often lacked the mentorship and guidance needed to navigate the U.S. healthcare system and residency application process.

We heard stories of students investing significant amounts of money into clinical opportunities that offered little educational value. We met students who felt overwhelmed by the Match process, uncertain about which opportunities would strengthen their applications, and unsure of whom to trust.

Many felt like they were being treated as transactions rather than future physicians.

That never sat right with us.

We believe medical education should be about more than checking a box on an application. It should provide meaningful learning experiences, individualized mentorship, and practical guidance that helps students grow both personally and professionally.

That's why we created RotationSync.

Our mission is to help international medical students and graduates gain meaningful clinical experience, connect with physician mentors, and navigate residency and fellowship opportunities with confidence.

We take the time to understand each student's unique goals, strengths, and challenges because we know there is no single path to success. Every student's journey is different, and the support they receive should reflect that.

Whether through clinical education programs, residency strategy guidance, mock interviews, physician consultations, or application support services, our goal remains the same: to help students make informed decisions and move forward with confidence.

We're helping future physicians build the careers they've worked so hard to pursue.
